Deadline-Driven? Try Writing A Novel In A Month!

November 4, 2005

2005_participant.gifHaving some trouble getting motivated with your writing? I'm harnessing the deadline-driven juices by participating in National Novel Writing Month!

National Novel Writing Month is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing November 1. The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30.

Find out more about National Novel Writing Month on http://www.nanowrimo.org/.

It's November 4th and I've got an outline, a timeline, and the first three chapters basically hammered out for a total of 14,108 words so far! That's about 25% already! Luckily 50k words is actually a really short novel... requiring only about 1600 words a day... so it doesn't feel so overwhelming.

Wish me luck!
