Always, always, always back up your work. Religiously.

No, I didn't lose my manuscript. I was crazy about saving off drafts to other devices, in other states... just in case the worst happened. But now my laptop has been misbehaving, and I cannot find the Office disks, and so I have a printed out copy of my manuscript, and I'm working like the old days on my revisions.

I'm getting a nice new laptop to write future works of great significance. But I have to wait til it gets here... *sigh*
