So. I have just sifted through about 15 versions of my LOVE ON A LIMB manuscript, each with feedback from contest judges and critique partners...
They all say the same thing... which I suppose is a good thing (something to focus on) but did it have to be "TOO MUCH BACKSTORY"? Which of course leads to slowing the pacing, readers losing interest..
It's not that I don't agree. It's that I feel like I need this valuable info communicated to the reader. Right then and there! Or the story can't go on!
On the other hand, everyone seems to enjoy my dialogue. This is apparently a strength of mine.
