What happens when, without your knowledge, your rascal of a brother marries you by proxy to a lovely American woman? What if she travels to England, shows up at your dinner party announcing herself as your Viscountess, and your brother has gone into hiding? Viscount Ravenswood doesn't take it very well.
Sabrina Jeffries always weaves such well-researched novels filled with high impact love scenes and gently crafted characters. Married to the Viscount is no acception. The Suggestions for the Stoic Servant excerpts that lead each chapter are fantastic - they give a tone for the coming chapter while still providing either a chuckle or a thoughtful consideration. Our hero, Ravenswood, is engaging from the first chapter, when he miserably admits whilst drunk that he's attracted to the American. His brother decides to take matters into his own hands, for what he sees is the benefit of all involved. The secret Ravenswood has is delicate, but Jeffries' thoughtful plotting allows everything to resolve itself naturally. As always, the love scenes are rousing prose, filled with heartwarming dialogue between the lovers. Married to the Viscount is yet another great read from master Sabrina Jeffries.
