The first novel of the Malloren Family Series, My Lady Notorious introduces the magnificent Malloren family adn tells the story of Cyn Malloren and the notorious Lady Chastity Ware.
Having recently recuperated from a serious war illness, Cyn Malloren is riding along in his carriage when he is held up by two highwaymen. Although Cyn realizes he can likely overpower his attackers, he is suffering underneath the thumb of his older brother, the Marquess of Rothgar, and decides to play along with them. Cyn soon finds himself swept into an adventure to protect a young mother and her child, as well as the fiesty female highwayman, no other than Lady Chastity Ware. Although her notoriety is unjustified, her wicked father has ruined and mistreated her anyway. To punish her further, he shaves Chastity's lovely head, leaving her to live in the country as a boy. Chastity is convinced that she can keep her gender and notorious identity from the handsome Cyn Malloren and agrees to allow him to help with she and her sister's cause.
My Lady Notorious is a delightful romp. Cyn is a very charming hero who is both heroic and mischievous. He goes out of his way to make Chastity uncomfortable as a young man, by alternately flirting with her and treating her like a man. Chastity is also a wonderful character with lots of spunk. She struggles with her attraction to Cyn despite her disguise as a man, and makes a valiant effort to be brave under the harsh circumstances she finds herself in. Lots of hilarious cross-dressing disguises and a raucous houseparty solidify the feelings of our two main characters, however the rather mysterious threat from which they are fleeing is serious and dangerous. Cyn must learn to trust his family in order to protect his newfound love.
