It all starts when Bryght is sent on a housebreaking mission that started in the first novel Lady Notorious. Petite Portia threatens Bryght Malloren at pistol-point and he leaves forever smitten. But when Portia's younger brother's debts become decidedly dangerous, she is forced into a situation in which she must pay by auctioning her virtue or lose the sibling she loves. Only Bryght, a notorious gamester, can extricate her from this debacle intact.
