A sweeping plot that carries the reader from the chilly lochs of Scotland to the sweltering heat of the West Indies, the Magic trilogy is a compelling read. A word of warning though, this series is more than 15 years old, and author Catherine Coulter does not shrink from writing about violence - in fact each novel has several graphic scenes involving rape and murder - set in a background of slavery to satanism.
