Catherine Coulter's Magic Trilogy takes place in the Regency period and involves the lives of three noblemen - a recent heir marrying to appease his dying father, an earl stranded on a desert island with a beautiful lady, and a pirate nobleman come home to become a landed gentleman. A sweeping plot that carries the reader from the chilly lochs of Scotland to the sweltering heat of the West Indies, the Magic trilogy is a compelling read. A word of warning though, this series is more than 15 years old, and author Catherine Coulter does not shrink from writing about violence - in fact each novel has several graphic scenes involving rape and murder - set in a background of slavery to satanism.
